ReplyDeleteI have been known to have some wine with my wife or when we have close friends over. It's a shame, just like the rest of our society, I choose what is cheap and convient(Giant Eagle)-over- what is expensive and vintage. Jean-Paul, the French wine connoisseur, is hanging his head in shame. I don't remember the last time I had a wine that was over 20 years old. A wine that has been fermenting with flavor thru the Cyndi Lauper 80's and the Backstreet Boys 90's. The mature wine is definitely a grade above. Richer taste, higher quality, and much more flavorful.
I don't want my life to be the cheap, inexpensive stuff. I want to mature slowly and grow richer in the Lord. It's easier said than done. I am a "problem solver". I try to find answers, immediately trying to fix situations. I need to slow down, develop good habits, and trust more that God will help me through each problem.
I always say I am a wrok in progress. Not only because I need to remind myself- but because I think others need to remember that as well.
ReplyDeleteI need to be more patient and persistent in the area of patience (redundant- I know). I enjoy immediate answers and fixes and stress when time goes by and I don't get one. Family problems, financial problems, kid problems..... I want God to fix it NOW and I don't always get why he doesn't. Patience Lynn, you don't need to always get it.
I need to be more persistent in reading the Bible and, as Lynn stated, just be more patient (with people, especially loved ones and fellow Christians) in general. Jess wants to be more patient and persistent in listening to God, specifically when it comes to listening for answers to what seem like unanswered prayers.
ReplyDeleteI also liked the idea of keeping a journal to track my progress. I'm not sure we'll do it, but I think it would be really neat for me and Jess to keep a journal like this and then maybe 10, 20, 30 years down the road share our journals with each other or our children/grandchildren. Hopefully we would see some real progress on the path to becoming more like Christ.
